See the following updateon the Shan State Earthquake Relief Project from our friends at the The Best Friend Library
Last week in Chiang Mai, at Wat Pa Pao temple, The Best Friend had a booth for the Shan Poy Sang Long festival collecting donations and selling fund raising T shirts. Altogether, they have raised more than 18,500 baht in the first 10 days of the Relief Project. Money has already been provided to organisations providing urgently needed relief on the ground.
The latest news from eastern Shan State is that there is a continued need for potable water and a serious need for roofing and shelter-building material as the thousands of people left homeless after the earthquake are still struggling to rebuild their homes.
The total fundraising goal for the Shan State Earthquake Relief Project is 45,000 baht ($1,500). They are more than 40% of the way achieving this, but still need a lot of help to make it there! Please help: Visit Shan State Earthquake Relief Project to find out how to donate or to purchase a fund raising T shirt.
