Where to go for your festive stuffing

Its that time of year again, when Christians celebrate Christmas and the rest of us eat and drink too much just because its a good excuse. Of course, in Chiang Mai, Christmas is not a holiday but for many, old habits die hard, so here’s a few ideas for places serving up Christmas fare. There are many excellent buffets at the five star hotels but be aware they are five star plus plus prices too.

If you want a good plate of stuffed turkey with all the trimmings just like your mother or grandmother used to slave away cooking on Christmas day whilst you were down the Pub, Well, just go to The Pub which has one of the best English style traditional Christmas dinners in Chiang Mai.

There are two sittings on Christmas Day: 12 noon to 4pm and 6pm until 9pm BOOKINGS ONLY (with 200Bt Deposit). No other food will be available on that day but the bar will be open as normal for drinks.

Menu: Soup – Roast Turkey and Ham – Roast Potato – Seasonal Vegetables – Yorkshire Pudding – Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce – Home made Gravy -Christmas Pudding and Brandy Sauce – Fresh Coffee or Pot of Tea. Price 899 Bt. Call 053-211-550 for reservations.

Although the Pub is not a specifically gay venues, it is popular with the gay ex-pat crowd so there are sure to be some friendly faces.

If you want any other kind of stuffing, we can recommend the Christmas Party at Adam’s Apple club which should have plenty of gorgeous chestnuts from Burma’s Shan State.
